2024 Honda HR-V in Scarborough, ON

The HR-V is Honda’s vehicle in the fiercely competitive subcompact crossover segment. With Honda’s reputation for reliability and the positive feedback from many Canadian drivers, this car continues to rate highly on many car shopping lists.

What’s Different from 2023?

A new model of the Honda HR-V was released in 2023, so there are a few minor upgrades for 2024.

There are no notable changes from the current year.

Trims and Pricing

The HR-V is available in three trims: LX-B, Sport-B, and EX-L NAVI.

The LX-B is the entry-level trim priced from $31,094* for the front-wheel-drive model and $33,394* for all-wheel-drive.

The Sport-B comes in at $36,294*, and at the top of the line is the EX-L NAVI, which starts at $40,044*.

Performance

The HR-V isn’t intended as a performance vehicle, but with its 2.0L four-cylinder engine, which makes 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque, it will provide good performance around town and still take to the highway with aplomb.

All the trims use the same continuously variable transmission, and they all have three drive modes, normal, economy, and snow, to ensure that optimum settings are used depending on the driving conditions.

The HR-V has good fuel consumption figures. Around town, the front-wheel-drive LX-B gives 9.1 L/100 km and 7.4 L/100 km on the highway. Adding all-wheel-drive to a vehicle adds weight, so the all-wheel-drive version of the HR-V gives 9.4 L/100 km around town and 7.8 L/100 km on the highway.

Infotainment and Technology

Infotainment and Technology

The HR-V has a 7-inch colour touchscreen upgraded to 9 inches in the EX-L NAVI to run the infotainment. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard, but only the EX-L has navigation. All trims have three USB charging ports.

The audio system is good across the trims, but the EX-L has an HD radio in the form of SiriusXM, and this trim also has wireless charging capability.

All trims have a high level of driver assistance features. These include adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and lane-keeping assistance. They also have push-button start and proximity keyless entry systems. Honda Sensing is also standard. This package includes forward collision warning technology with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection.

The EX-L gets additional features such as blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic monitoring,

Looks and Comfort

The HR-V has a sleek, modern look, with LED lights, a moon roof, and 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels that appeal to all age groups.

The HR-V has a modern interior, and the cloth seats are comfortable and can be adjusted to suit all driving positions. The front seats are heated, and the leather-wrapped steering wheel is also heated in the Sport and EX-L. The interior is well-equipped with storage space.
